Are you planning a long weekend away or even a week-long adventure but don’t want to pay extra for luggage like me? With airlines charging increasingly high baggage fees, us savvy travellers are looking for smarter ways to pack and that’s where my sustainable, Samsonite Paradiver Light 3 back pack comes in. Often referred to as “the carry-on bag that Ryannair hates”, this backpack is so, so cleverly designed it helps me maximise my packing whilst staying within airlines’ free personal item allowance. It measures 40cm x 30 cm x 20 cm and fits comfortably in the seat in front of me on the plane and only weights 0.8kg. Available in black, jungle green and yellow.

It has a breathable padded back system for improved comfort and airflow, and adjustable shoulder straps, a sternum strap for added stability and support and a trolley strap if you want to carry it like a suitcase. It is so comfortable. to carry. The side pocket gives me quick access to items and it has a dedicated side pocket which I find ideal for my phone. I don’t need to rammage through my pack to find my charger or smartphone.
One of the many things I love about it is that the main compartment opens suitcase-style which makes my packing and unpacking effortless. Inside there are two compression straps that keep my clothing secure and organised. I put all my smaller essentials in the zipped pocket on the left. To close the back pack there is a two-way zip closure that is both lockable and water-resistant.

These are my clothes for seven days in Jersey ready to be packed in my back pack. I used the same bag for my visit to Belle Tout Lighthouse (see other post).
